A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
- born Robert Alan Palmer (Jan.19, 1949) in Bately,Yorkshire, England
- parents moved to Malta (18 months old) then returned to England (age 10)
- worked with different bands in the 1960s and early 1970s. before going solo
- recorded many genres of music in over four decades
(jazz, rock, R&B, rock, ballads, electronic music)
- made a number of recordings before "Bad Case of Loving You" was
successful in the US (1979)
- won Best Male Video category (1986)
at the annual MTV Video Music Awards and also won
Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male Category at the
29th annual Grammy awards (Addicted to Love).
- had songs were featured on movie soundtracks
- died suddenly on September 26, 2003 after suffering a heart attack. He was 54.
