The Christmas Tree

There are no other moments
as magical to me,
As sitting in a darkened room
beside the Christmas tree......

With just the lights to look at
and the carols to be heard,
I feel the joy of Christmas
without the need of word.

No matter how busy the day has been
with many a hurried task,
Just an hour beside my Christmas tree
is all the reward I ask;

For then the spirit of these holy days,
for all that they mean to me,
Is recalled once more in the quietness
Beside the Christmas tree.
